Granada, capital of the last Muslim kingdom in Spain. It's a city at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The Alhambra of Granada is one of Spain's most famous constructions; an Arab fortress that combines grand arches with delicate ornamental mosaics. Travel back in time as you meander through the winding cobblestone streets of the Albayzín.

The reward will be beautiful views from the Mirador de San Nicolás. Granada's nightlife is dynamic and varied, partly thanks to the student population. Stop by the bars of Calle Elvira or, if you fancy a quieter outing, the traditional tea houses on Calle de las Teterías.
