Sahara Desert & Fez 5 days

DAY 1  Tarifa – Tangier - Chefchaouen - Meknes

08:00 hrs. Meeting at the port of Tarifa and delivery of boarding passes at the counter of FRS
09:00 hrs. Departure by fast ferry to Tangier. From the deck of the ship appear in all its splendor profile of the hills of the city, dominated by two high towers: the Mosque of Mohammed V and the Spanish Cathedral. Background the murmur of the waves, we can guess the sound of the muezzin calling to prayer, and that means we have reached our destination, Morocco: the country of the senses.
When we reach the port of Tangiers, we will meet our guide.

We set out for the Rif Mountains, in order to go to Chefchaouen located in the only intercontinental natural park, declared a nature reserve of the biosphere. Chaouen is a village perched in the mountains, white and blue, of wise, kind and friendly people, and offer to visitors beautiful urban panoramas in decline, precious samples of local crafts and a peace and serenity that is hard to find nowadays. Departure to Mekness, wonderful monumental city, surrounded by a huge wall of XVI century over 40 kms of perimeter, which is proud to have one of the most beautiful doors throughout Morocco, Bab el Mansour.

DAY 2  Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

Departure by bus for a sightseeing tour of the city of Meknes, the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, including Bab el Mansur and the   food market.  

Departure to Azrou, after a brief stop, we will continue towards Midelt, through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas. Stop en route for lunch. Continuation to Erfoud city also called "La Puerta del Desierto", where the bus will leave us in order to continue  in 4x4 to Merzouga. We will see quarries of marine fossils with 360 million years old. We will visit some of the tracks used in the Dakar Rally, and we shall see desert nomads.

We will continue towards the Grand Erg Chebi "Desert Dunes very fine sand" where is our camp and where you will also have your first contact with the Sahara. We will spent the night in "Dromedary hair tents" as used by desert nomads and enjoy a magical evening under thousands of stars.

DAY 3  Rissani – Ifrane - Fez

 Sunrise in the Sahara. Its dunes extend to the horizon and some rise over 150 meters.

The experience of seeing out the first rays of sun in the Sahara is impressive. Today it is mandatory to get up early for an unforgettable meeting with the sunrise. We leave at night to see the sunrise from the dunes. We can admire the different shades that is acquiring the sand in accordance with the sun.

After a good Berber breakfast we will go for a camel ride through the dunes, then we will go on 4 x 4 to Rissani, where we will find the bus and start our way to Fez, beautiful city where the rich Moroccan artisan tradition are still alive today . Fez represents a lost world for Western civilizations. Founded by Moulay Idriss in the year 791, it is today the religious and spiritual capital of Morocco.

DAY 4 -  Fez

09:00 hrs. We leave for a visit with a local guide of the city of Fez. We will begin with an overview of the city, including the Merinides tombs. Then we will visit Fez el Jedid, including the Alahuitas Square, exteriors of the Royal Palace and Dar el Makhzen. 

We will continue towards the walking tour of Fez el Bali, whose medina has more than 7000 streets, and we will visit the Attarin spice souk, the souk of Jenna. We will arrive at Nejjarin Square where is the founduk of the same name. Then we will visit the madrassa of Bounania. We will continue toward the  Es Seffarin square to finish the morning in the neighborhood of tanners and see the tanneries.

15:00 hrs. Lunch at the hotel.

DIA 5  Fez – Tánger – Tarifa

Breakfast at hotel and departure to Asilah
Arrival in Asilah and free time for lunch and shopping
At 16.30hrs departure to the port of Tangier
18:30 hrs. Departure of the Fast Ferry to Tarifa
20:30 hrs. Arrival in Tarifa and end of our services.
